A man was injured when some supporting boxing collapsed on the first floor of a building being constructed in Dixon street As a result the A. Williams Construction Company, Ltd., was charged in the Magistrate’s Court today with failing to ensure that the boxing was of adequate strength. Mr W H. Carson, S.M., convicted the company and fined it £25, and costs 30s. For the Department of Labour, evidence was given that two supporting toms had been removed to allow a concrete-carrying truck to back in under the first floor.
