Runaway Truck In Cambridge
(New Zealand Press Association) CAMBRIDGE, Sept. 30. A unoccupied five-ton truck parked in Lake street, Cambridge, ran down a grade, gathered speed as it crossed the main thoroughfare of Victoria street and finally mounted the kerbing and crashed through the window of Mr J. M. Upfold’s drapery store shortly before 9 o’clock this morning. The truck, owned by Messrs J C. Hutton (New Zealand) Ltd., had been parked in gear while goods were being delivered. Mr Upfold’s shop was empty at the time, but was due to open only a few minutes later.
