Uniformity
Sir, —The immorality of our age is the fading of the individual into a white conformity. The name, the brand, the country, the political system have become the gods and masters. The situation is rather like a society for the benefit of members, in which, by gradual change, the members have come to serve the society. I suggest a search for a means of placing every man in his true perspective. Every man should be regarded as something unique and different—whose differences are that man. Perhaps generations of building have made our own society into a too awesome structure. It certainly seems the greater (in size) the civilisation gets the smaller the minds of the individual become. I wonder, could society be broken up into smaller parts?—Yours, etc., *■ DAVID HARRE. August 1, 1960.
