Praise For N.S.W. Country Team
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, August 2. New South Wales Country Rugby Union officials who “scraped the barrel” to raise £2OOO to send the team to. New Zealand must be delighted with the tourists* success, the Sydney “Daily Telegraph** Rugby writer, Phil Tresidder, said today. “It is quite ■ an assignment to take on the Rugby tiger, New Zealand, in his own den,” Tresidder said. "But the New South Wales countrymen have already won five of their first seven fixtures.
“Last Saturday Dunedin fans shouted themselves hoarse as the New South Wales country boys defeated the powerful Otago provincial side in a thriller. For the record, Otago last season defeated the British Isles touring team 26-8,” he said.
