FOUR PERSONS INJURED
Car Strikes Pole And Overturns
Four persons were taken to the Christchurch Hospital after a car got out of control in loose shingle, struck a fence and then a telegraph pole, snapping it off, and came to rest on its roof in Springs road about 3.8 p.m. yesterday. Mrs Dorothy May Garrett, of 20 Rosewarne street, Spreydon. was admitted to hospital suffering from arm, leg, and internal injuries. Her condition was reported last evening as satisfactory. Thomas Garrett, who suffered head lacerations and shock. Christopher Garrett, a child, who suffered shock, and Louis Duncan, who suffered bruising of the legs, were all treated at the casualty department and sent home. All their addresses are given as 20 Rosewarne street Temporary repairs to the telephone lines were carried out by a gang of linesmen of the Post and Telegraph Department.
