Babies Under Nurses’ Supervision Thirteen full-time Plunket nurses on home visiting had travelled 2267 miles to visit 2015 homes during the'last month, said a report from Sister B. HelliweH (sister-in-charge) at a recent meeting of the general committee of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society. A total of 2705 babies had been taken to the Plunket rooms for attention and 846. children in the pre-sohool group had been seen in the period under review, the report said. During the last six months 4759 babies have been under supervision.
Mrs E. Lowe, secretary of the Karitane Nurses’ Bureau, reported that because of increasing demands for Karitane nurses it had not been possible to send nurses to all applicants. Trainee nurses were giving excellent service to mothers, who were most grateful for their help, she said. The following members were elected to committees:—Branch hospitality committee, Mesdames T. J. Edmonds, H. A. Hammett, M. McLaughlan and W. L. Taylor; Karitane Hospital house committee, Mesdames H. Cook, T. Darby. M. J. Friedlander, M. Ingold, R. R. Mills, K. Munro, M. Sugden, E. L. Taylor, J. B. Turner, R. J. Voss and R. G. Wolff.
