THE 1960 NEW ZEALAND PLOUGHING CHAMPION, B. J. McPhedran, of Timaru, after receiving the Atlantic Silver Plough trophy from the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holyoake), at Washdyke on Saturday. Mr Holyoake is addressing the gathering, and on the right is the New Zealand manager of the Atlantic Oil Company (Mr E. J. Melrose). The champion ploughman will represent the Dominion at the world championship to be held near Rome in October. His trip win be at the expense of the oil company sponsoring the Atlantic Silver Plough contest.
