NO WORK-OUT FOR ILUMQUH
Settling Down After Rough Sea Voyage
(N.Z. Press Association— CoppngM) MELBOURNE, July 28. Ilumquh did not have his first Australian work-out at Flemington today as expected. -His stablemates. Tobacco and Return Fare, did not appear either. The three horses bad a rough sea trip to Sydney and their trainer, E. Ropiha, is giving them a tew days to find their “land legs.” It might be a week before Ilumquh makes his track appearance. He ts settling down well in his new surroundings, and Ropiha Is tn no hurry to start working him tn preparation for the cups. T. Lewis has the former New Zealand stayer, Ssvage. back in work. He has done well and moves nicely, although be has not been tested yet. x Lewis said today that he was very pleased with the way the gelding was shaping and he would probably give him his first start in Australia in the St. Aubin Handicap, at Caulfield. on August 13.
