3000 Miles For Rugby

The arrangements made by the members of the Canterbury Rugby League board of control and the Marist Rugby League Club to bring M. Mohi into training twice a week from Springfield, are not unprecedented, it would seem. A North Otago reader, Mr A. C. Green, haS advised that a former Christchurch Marist Rugby player, 18-year-old C. Brady, began the Rugby season as a member of the Roxburgh senior team. Later, however, he was transferred to the Waitaki power station, but this has not prevented him playing for the Roxburgh club. Long Trips For the last five weeks, members of the club have travelled by car every Friday evening to pick him up and have returned him to Waitaki on the Sunday evening. To play each week-end he has to travel 300 miles and the cars 600 miles. Over this period, therefore, he has travelled 1500 miles and the cars 3000 mKes.
