COMMERCIAL Wellington Wool Rise Sharply On ’Change

Brisk trading closed the week on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Wellington Woollen rose 2s 3d above Thursday’s price in Auckland to sell at 39s 6d, the highest point this year. Boosting yesterday’s turnover was a sale of 3533 Union Steam preference at an unchanged 21s. N.Z. Breweries further improved in five sales to sell 6d higher at 16s 6d. Tasman (29s 6d) and Mason Struthers 14s paid (18s) both also firmed 6d, while Andrews and Beaven, M.K. Manufacturers, one

sale of Ross and Glendining and Woolworths sold 3d up.

South British Insurance, Kauri Timber and Ansett sold 3d easier.
