MR McEWEN’S VISIT
Itinerary Includes Day In City
(New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 29. Details of the visit to New Zealand by the Australian Deputy Prime Minister (Mr McEwen) were released tonight by the Prime Minister (Mr Nash). Mr McEwen, who will arrive at Wellington airport tomorrow afternoon, will spend four days in New Zealand. On Monday he will have discussions with Ministers and Government officials and will lunch at Government House. Mr Nash will give a reception to Mr McEwen at Parliament House in the evening. Official discussions will be continued on Tqesday morning and, if necessary, in the afternoon. Mr McEwen will be the guest at a Parliamentary luncheon, after which he will attend the House of Representatives in session. On Tuesday evening Mr McEwen and his party will fly to Christchurch where they will spend most of Wednesday. After a formal call on the Mayor (Mr G. Manning), lunch at Canterbury Agricultural College. Lincoln, and an inspection of the college, he will leave Christchurch airport for Australia.
YJW.C.A. Tournament. The eighth annual Young Men’s Christian Association national tournament for boys aged between 14 and 17 years will be held in Auckland from September 3 to 7. Ten teams totalling about 80 boys, some from as far south as Invercargill, will attend. —(P.A.)
