QUESTIONED IN MOSCOW
Distributors Of U.S. Magazine MOSCOW, July 28. Three Americans, a Briton, and a West German were detained by Soviet officials today in an incident involving distribution of the United States State Department’s “Amerika” magazine. After being questioned for about four hours, they were released and told to leave the country immediately, American Associated Press reported. The Americans were distributing the magazine and the Briton and West German were taking pictures of the Russian crowd which had gathered. The incident was similar to one over the week-end in which- six American students were temporarily held for distributing the same magazine, which is issued by the State Department for circulation in Russia. The magazine is issued monthly and attempts to present an objective picture of the United States with extensive illustrations. It is printed in Russian.
