FREEZING WORKS EXTENSION
Big Beefhouse At
Paeora (From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, July 29. Construction had begun at the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company’s works at Paeora of a building that would form part of a big beefhouse estimated to cost £250,000, in which it was planned to handle about 150 head of cattle a day. said the local manager (Mr- W. S- Minehan) this evening. Mr Minehan said it would be from two years to two years and a half before the plant was completed. A modem one. it would cater for American and other markets. The main building would be in front of the present works on the west side, he said “It will be in with the existing freezing and cooling room portion of the present building," Mr Minehan added. “Cattle will be obtained from all round Mid and South Canterbury," he said.
