Sports Car Sales Drop
While new sports cars are snapped up in New Zealand as soon as they become available, a shadow has fallen across the British sports car production lines. The British Motor Corporation has cut its production of M.G.A. and Austin Healeys by 250 a week, while Mulliners, the subsidiary of StandardTriumph, whch makes bodies for the TR 3, has given warning notices to 200 employees. Neither the TR 3 nor the BMC. models are new, and it is expected that some radical changes in British sports car design may take place to combat the drop in sales.
