THE N.Z. PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIP

for the

'pHE MATCH, the fifth of its type to be held in New Zealand, will be on the farm of Miss Mary Divan on Levels Plain about 2f miles north of Washdyke and six miles from Timaru.

The winner will represent New Zealand in the world ploughing championship which will be held near Rome on October 9 and 10, shortly before the Olympic Games.

The finalists, who are all winners of qualifying matches held in 22 districts throughout the country in the last five months, will have three hours in which to plough half an acre. A panel of five judges will assess their work.

The match will be held under the auspices of the New Zealand Ploughing Association, in conjunction with the Timaru Ploughing Match Association, which has arranged the most ambitious programme of associated entertainments yet attempted for a national championship.
