MOTOR SPIRITS LICENSING
Reserved Decisions Of Authority
The Motor Spirits Licensing Authority (Mr S. C. Johnston), has issued reserved decisions after hearings held at Christchurch recently.
An application by Messrs L. L. Lester and A. D. Storer to change the retail selling point of one pump from Greers road to proposed garage premises at Harewood road has been granted subject to the condition that a bona fide repair service shall be provided at the new premises. The Canterbury Tractor Company’s application to retail motor spirits on premises on the Main South road has been declined on the grounds it is not in the public interest.
Mr E. Wickes’s application to retail motor spirits from one pump at Kumara, Westland, has been declined.
The application of Haskin’s Garage, Ltd., to retail motor spirits from new premises on Harewood road has been declined as it could affect the economic welfare of those already engaged in the industry tn that locality. The application by Mr W. S. Tredennick for an additional petrol pump at the garage premises at Lyytelton has Been declined.
On the condition that a bona fide repair service is provided for the public an application by Mr I. R. M. Bruce for an additional petrol pump has been granted. The application by Horwell, Osborne, M'-Beath. Ltd., Timaru. for a licence to install two petrol pumps at a proposed new garage and service station ait the Main South road Washdyke, has been declined by lhe Authority. Messrs D. E., D. A, and M. R Pollard’s application for a licence to retail motor spirits from premises on the Main South road has been derlfned.
Mr R. G. 11 ton’s application for a licence to shift one Dump from the present site at Kumara to the opposite side of the road has been declined by the Authority.
