RECORD WHALE CATCH
223 Taken In Tory Channel (New Zealand Press Association) BLENHEIM, July 22. The Tory Channel whalers have broken the record of 214 whales for a season, which was established last year. Their tally for the present season up to last night was 223. The record-breaking whale was captured on Tuesday. Making its way alone through the strait, it was one of seven taken during the day. The season still has another month to go, and with whales
; still appearing at the rate of up to seven a day, the indications are that the whaling party will be kept busy for some time yet.
