Hurdles Win For Grey Jet
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 24. Grey Jet. which has travelled from New Zealand to Perth and back to Victoria, won his first race in Melbourne when he scored in the Glendewar Trial Hurdle at Moonee Valley yesterday. Grey Jet (5 to 1) beat Leosan (10 to 1) by a neck, with Kerguelen (8 to 1) six lengths away third. Grey Jet (Pherozshah—Lochwinnoch), which was bred in New Zealand, raced in Perth and Adelaide before coming to Melbourne. He ran a good race in Baystone’s Melbourne Cup three years ago.
