Letter To The Editor

Houdini . j.Sir,—ln “The Press” last Saturday the book review “Houdini, The Man Who Walked Through Walls,” ends, “In October he broke down completely and in Detroit he had to give up. He lingered 10 days and died, apparently worn out.” In actual fact Houdini’s death was caused when a student visiting him in the theatre dressing room punched him in the stomach, the blow ruptured one of his kidneys, peritonitis set in and lie died 10 days later. I should be glad if you would please publish this correct account of his death. . ’ HOUDINI FAN. [Our reviewer writes: Houdini’s mishap’ is described in chapter 35 of Mr Graham’s book. Rightly or wrongly, the author implies that Houdini was in a state of nervous and physical exhaustion when it took place.] 1
