SPEEDY MILE AT YONKERS
Caduceus Placed Second

Caduceus turned in his best performance since coming to the United States from New Zealand when he ran second to Adios Butler, the champion American free-for-all pacer, at Yonkers Raceway last night. Adios Butler bead Caduceus. now under lease to Mr J. Wllsker. of Yonkers, by three-quarters of a length in the fast time of 2min 0 2-ssec for the mile course. The winner was a hot favourite at 5 to 2 on, while Caduceus was lightly rated at about 8 to 1. It was Caduceus’s first outing since June 30, when he finished fifth behind Tar Boy in the International “Encore." This race was held following the unsatisfactory ending to the third of the three 50,000 dollars International Pace series, in which Caduceus deadheated for first place but was disqualified. As In the “Encore.” he was driven in last night’s 25.000dollars Armonk Pace by the American, W. Haughton. Tar Boy was third and Speedy Pick fourth.
