A survey had been made by he Gore Trotting Club of the show, grounds with the ide* of laying out a suitable track. He was invited to Gore to get his ideas on the proposed scheme. He would meet th* Gore committee on Sun/ollowlng the announcement of the presidents of both the Racing and Trotting Conferences on centralisation. the matter has been widely discussed in Southland. The Invercargill Trotting Club is to send a deputation to the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association to discuss the possibility of converting its showgrounds into a trotting course. The Winton Club is likely to again consider the formation of a fivefurlong track on its course. For some time the Winton Club has bad a five-furlong track in mind. It was the first Southland dub to consider * smaller racing circuit and although a plan of * proposed trade was drawn out the scheme was not continued.
