A.L.P. Holds Bendigo
MELBOURNE. July M The Australian Labour Party has held the Federal seat of Bendigo by 133 votes. The seat was contested last Saturday In a by-election made necessary by the death of the sitting member, the late Mr P. J. Clarey. The hew member. Mr Noel Beaton, received 21 - 19 ® votes. His Liberal Party °PP°£ ent Mr William Snell, had 21.066 primary votes and ‘J?'p Labour Partv candidate. Mr w. r D of preference votes was counted to day, enough had gone from Mf Drechsler’s supporters to Mr ton to ensure bis election.
