RICCARTON SEAT
Three National Nominees
Three nominations have been received for the National Party candidate to contest Riccarton at the General Ejection. A selection will be made on August 15 from: Mrs D. V. Sergei, a former policewoman who stood in Riccarton at the last election. Mrs A. Schumacher, a city councillor who has been the National candidate in Sydenham and Christchurch Central in the past, and Mr R. H. Sail, a manufacturers’ representative who was one of the nominees for the Lyttelton seat Both the women nominees were in the ballot for the St Albans candidate decided on Wednesday evening. Apart from Riccarton, the National Party has to find candidates for only Sydenham, Christchurch Central, and Avon—all Labour strongholds—in the Christchurch electorates.
