Frenchmen Relax At Their Hotel (Naw Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 21. Preparation by the two teams In the Rugby League test at Carlaw Park on Saturday, France and New Zealand, was poles apart today. While the Kiwis held a hard training session, the French team relaxed at its hotel.
The Frenchmen were not taking the test lightly, however. Mr A. Blain, the manager, made a strong plea to his men for an all-out effort against New Zealand. Persona) glory would have to be forsaken for the good ot the team, said Ml Blain, and the test played with every ounce of energy and spirit. After the talk, players who were not in the test side went out for a light training run. The only French player not completely fit today is the big secondrow forward, J. Barthe. He aggravated a muscle injury tn the left leg at Huntly yesterday. If Barthe should not be fit. A. Marty, who played on the wing, will take his place.
