DISCUSSION ON TOUR

Main Topic For N.Z.R.U. Meeting (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 21. Situations that have developed during the All Black tour of South Africa are likely to have a thorough airing at tomorrow’s meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union council. Apart from reports received from the team manager (Mr T. H. Pearce) the aspects of the approaching South African visit of the council chairman (Mr C. H. Hogg) will be discussed. These discussions will almost certainly be in committee. Other matters set down for discussion are the proposed itinerary for next year’s tour of New Zealand by the French team, an invitation from Ceylon for a colts tour next year or in 1962. Invitations to tour Malaya. British Columbia in 1963 and Western Samoa in 1962. Malaya and Western Samoa have already been advised that, because of commitments, tours are unlikely in the near future. Australia will be invited to visit New Zealand in 1962. The New Zealand Rugby Union’s policy regarding overseas tours by provincial unions will be discussed. Proposals for the adjustment of boundaries for the Prince of Wales Cup territories will also be considered.
