New Developments By Waltons
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 21. Waltons, Limited, Australian chain store organisation, has announced the purchase of the oldestablished furniture and hardware business of Crowes. PtyLtd.. in the Brisbane suburb of Nundah, for approximately £150.000 cash. Recent other developments by Waltons, not as yet announced, take in the purchase of properties in the outer Melbourne suburbs of Croydon and Dandenong for the erection of modem premises tor the company’s use in the near future. A new branch store has been opened in the Sydney suburb of Caringbah and trading so far has been very satisfactory.. Booker Investment.—L. J. Hooker Invest. Corp.. Ltd,, application date is now extended to September 21, 1960.—(P.A.) Sllknit Interim—Sllknit, N.Z., Ltd- has declared an interim dividend of 31 per cent., payable August 7 ex div.. August I.—(P.A.) U.K. Engineering Group.—Bovlng and Company, Ltd., British engineering group, has formed a whollyowned subsidiary to handle its business in Australia and New Zealand. The new subsidiary, Bovlng and Company (AN.Z); Pty., Ltd., has its headquarters in Melbourne, it has a branch in Wellington Clutha Gold.—Clutha River Gold Dredging, Ltd., announce that during the three months ended June 30 the dredge worked 1212 hours and produced 1288 ounces of gold. In the first three months to June 30 the dredge worked 1416 hours and produced 1335 ounces of gold.—(P.A.) F.A.M.E. "Don’t Sell”.—The directors of F.A.M.E. Insurance Company. Ltd., advise shareholders not to sell their shares meantime, as they have decided to make a cash issue of 13.110 ordinary shares at par In the proportion of 7 for every 25 held, fractions being disregarded.
