TOWN PLANNING REGULATIONS

Regulations gazetted tonight consolidate and amend the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and Country Planning Regulations Amendment No. 1 and take into account the amendments of the principal act made by the Town and Country Planning Amendment Act, 1957. Important changes effected by the regulations are: requirements as to planning data and maps have been modified, allowing wider discretion generally; greater emphasis is placed upon development by predetermined stages; provisions are included for variations of the departures from district schemes; procedure is prescribed for delegation of powers to councils; and forms prescribed in the schedules have been revised and added to.
