IN N.Z. TO KEEP FEET COOL
Australian Suffering From War Disability (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 7. An Australian returned serviceman, Mr Harold Hill, arrived in Auckland today aboard the Arcadja with the aim of settling in the coldest part of New Zealand—“ The more ice and snow the better,” he said. Mr Hill, who is 39, served in the war in the jungles of New Guinea and the conditions weakened his feet permanently. In cold conditions he suffers no disability. Provided he can find footpaths considerably cooler underfoot than the streets of Adelaide he will settle in New Zealand.
Mr Hill is a bachelor, and his first task is to get a job. Friends have advised him to try Christchurch.
