CHINESE IN CANADA
Illegal Entry Racket (Rec. 11 p.m.) OTTAWA. July 7. The Canadian • jnister of Justice (Mr Fulton) said yesterday the Royal Canadian Mounted Police had gathered evidence confirming that an extensive, organised racket in illegal entry of Chinese was operated in Canada. Reporting, to the House of Commons on a nation-wide investiga- " \.n, he said: “Charges most certainly will be laid just as soon as that can be done.” He indicated this might take a considerable time because of sifting evidence.
Mr Fulton, speaking on the 1960-61 estimates of the R.C.M.P.. appealed for more co-operation in the investigation from the Chinese community. Mr Fulton was unable to say how many illegal entries there Were, and denied that the R.C.M.P. bad found any evidence to indicate that Communist agents were among the Illegal entrants.
