RATIONING LIKELY
Warning To Cubans
(Rec. 10 p.m.l HAVANA, July 7. Consumer goods may be rationed in Cuba. Cubans were warned today that this could be one of the results of a long drawn-out economic war with the United States, according to United Press International. However, the Government newspaper, “Revolucion," said Communist countries could "provide us with a majority of. the products Which the imperialists deny us.” The Communist newspaper, “Hoy," warned Cubans that “it is important that people fully understand that economic war is long and difficult.” It said that, unlike armed conflict which featured big, spectacular battles, economic war would be drawn out and would requite patience and fortitude by the people. "We are in a condition So thateconomic war will do us the least possible damage and so that consumer restrictions will be at a minimum,”, the newspaper said. The editorial comment was regarded as a warning that shortages could be expected and that rationing might follow. .
