Need For Urgent Cases
An appeal for housekeepers to help urgent cases was made by Mrs R. A. Ambridge (Riccarton branch), secretary of the housekeeper scheme, at a meeting yesterday of the Canterbury provincial executive of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. < Mrs Ambridge said there were four housekeepers in employment under the scheme at present, but the demand continued to be greater than the supply. She asked for names and addresses of any women who would be willing to help in cases of urgent need. Mrs J. Blamires (Darfleld branch) presided at the meeting. Final arrangements were . made about costumes and equipment for those who will take part in a pageant at a division conference to be held in Wellington.
Mrs A. C. Perry (Spreydon branch) thanked members for their continued interest tn and gifts for patients at the Templeton Hospital, In response to her appeal for financial assistance to-wards-the purchase of a tape recorder, members agreed to allocate £5 from a fund held by Mrs Perry for this work. It was felt that a tape recorder would be helpful to some particularly handicapped cases.
