HARBOUR BOARD BUILDINGS

Mr Amos Suggests Repainting

Because of lack of paint, buildings of the Lyttelton Harbour Board on the waterfront presented a dreary picture, Mr L. G. Amos said at yesterday’s meeting of the board. Mr Amos asked that a report be presented on the cost of repainting the board’s buildings. “I don’t know why we have been so stingy with paint at Lyttelton,” said Mr Amos. “What sites does Mr Amos refer to?” asked Mr W. B. Laing. “Anderson’s site is one and the others are not hard to find,” replied Mr Amos. “They al! want a coat of paint.”

The board decided that a report should be obtained on a painting programme for the next 12 months.
