AMERICAN SCOUT JAMBOREE
Christchurch Boy To Attend A 17-year-old Christchurch boy scout, Keith Mackersey. of Fendalton, will leave the city on Saturday for the fiftieth anniversary Scout Jamboree of America at Colorado Springs. Keith Mackersey. will be the only New Zealander to attend the jamboree. He has been a Queen s Scout since March and is a mem-
ber of the Scott patrol of the Fendalton senior scout troop. Last year he left Papanui High School after gaining his endorsed school certificate. He is now working for the Meteorological Service at Harewood. All expenses for the jamboree will be paid by the United States boy scout organisation, although Keith is expected to pay for his own transport. He will fly from Auckland to Los Angeles on Monday and return by air early In October. The jamboree will last from July 22 to July 28.
