POLICE FORCE PROMOTIONS

Superintendents Appointed (Neto Zealand Press Association) " WELLINGTON, July 5. The appointment of three chief Inspectors of police to the rank of superintendent was announced today by the Minister of Police (Mr Connolly). Those promoted are Chief Inspector J. C. Fletcher, the officer in charge of the Rotorua police sub-district. Chief Inspector A. D. Buchanan, who is in charge of the Gisborne district and the officer in charge of the Auckland C.LB., Chief Inspector C. L. Spencer. Mr Connolly said Superintendent Fletcher would be appointed offieer in charge of the Dunedin district when the present officer. Superintendent J. T. McGrath, retires at the end of the month, and Superintendent Buchanan would take the place of Superintendent A. C. Davis, of Auckland, who was also retiring this month. Superintendent Spencer would remain in charge of the Auckland C. 1.8.
