PARLIAMENT’S DIARY

. Yesterday provided the first discussion afternoon of the Parliamentary session devoted to Ministerial answers to written questions. The first supplementary Order Paper contained the answers to 40 questions asked earlier in the session.

Twelve further questions Were asked. Papers tabled included 14 by Mr Nash, as Minister of External Affairs, comprising various agreements ratified.

During the evening, the Address-in-Reply debate was resumed, the speakers being: Opposition: Messrs W. A. Sheet (Egmont). J. T. Watts (Fendalton), F. L. A. Gotz (Manukau), and G. F. Sim (Waikato). Government: Mr N. E. Kirk (Lyttelton), the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Holloway), the Minister of Works (Mr Watt). The House rose at 10.30 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. today.
