U.K. Trawlers Held (Rec. 11 p.m.) THORSHAVN (Faroe Islands). July 6. Two British trawlers were arrested. early today by the Danish corvette Bellona for allegedly fishing within the sixmiles Faroes fishery boundary, says American Associated Press. The 274-ton Summerlee. from Leith, and the Belnagask, of Aberdeen, were taken to Thorshavn. capital of the Faroe Islands, and their skippers will be arraigned in Court this afternoon charged with illegal fishing about one nautical mile within the fishery limit The British skippers deny fishing in a prohibited area. The 1167-ton Bellona fired warning shots before the trawlers stopped and Danish guards were sent on board.
A third British trawler, fishing in the same area, managed to escape.
