Conference In Germany i! >il : - "J i '< A Christchurch student, Miss Qwyneth Williams, has - been chosen to represent New Zealand at, a World Student Christian, Federation conference in Strasbourg, Germany, next month. Miss Williams will leave Christchurch by air next week. Miss Williams’s first' connexion with the Student Christian movement was at Avonside Girls’ High School, where she joined a school group. She is now president of the S.C.M. group at the Christchurch Teachers’ College, where she is in her second year. Three persons would be going to the conference from New Zealand, as well as a New Zealander
at present studying in Germany, said Miss Williams in an interview yesterday. The theme of the conference, "the life and mission of the Church,” has been the' constant theme of the studies of the World Student Christian Federation for several years. “We will be trying to re-inter-pret what our job is as Christians and as students.” said Miss Williams.
Some of the world’s leading theologians will speak at the conference, and Miss Williams is looking forward to hearing them, and to meeting students from all over the world.
