FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—Pressures are low to the east and south-east of New Zealand and a south-westerly airstream covers the country. A cold front in the south'Tasman Sea is expected Jo move on to Southland about midday. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, with partly cloudy skies at first, but a change to fresh southwesterlies in the afternoon or evening, with scattered showers; temperatures cool. Outlook: changeable. West Coast.—Light winds and partly cloudy skies at first, but a change to moderate tb fresh south-west winds in the afternoon or evening, with a period of showers: temperatures cool. Outlook:*changeable. Nelson.—South-westerlies predominating; fresh at times in exposed places; a few showers about the ranges, otherwise partly cloudy: temperatures cool. Outlook: similar conditions. Marlborough.—Fine, with light winds at first, but fresh southerly winds in the evening with a few showers; temperatures cool. Outlook: changeable.
