Sir,—President Eisenhow’s description of the regent shelling of Quern ay as aggression is enough to make the angels weep, but eveh if they, being twentieth century Christians, merely avert their eyes, we .mortals need not be so blind. The Ouemoy group, at its nearest within four miles of the Virtually blockades- the large port of Amoy. America has supplied the guns and ammunition for Quemoy and American instructors have trained its gunners. .There were 20 of these American adviserinstnietors on Quemoy early last year,; 100 miles in advance of the main base. Formosa. Mr Eisenhower, who cries. “Murder!" when a resident of Quemoy gets killed, apparently considers it justifiable homicide when the Nationalists slay a mainland Chinese.
