LONDON’S NEW TELEVISION CENTRE AT SHEPHERD’S BUSH, which cost £10,000,000. The first programme will be transmitted from the building next Wednesday. The centre, which took 10 years to build, is circular, and will ultimately have seven production and two presentation studios, more than 120 artists’ dressing rooms, and several hundred offices. The biggest studio will have a 50ft by 30ft pit, which can be filled with water for aquatic displays.
