DIAMOND WEDDING CELEBRATIONS
Mr And Mrs W. L. Bourn
An informal afternoon tea on Sunday, July 3, will mark the sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs W. L. Bourn, f Fairlie. This day will also bei Mr Bourn's eighty-second birth-I day. Mrs Bourn is 77 years old.
Mr and Mrs Bourn were married in Timaru, on July 4. 1900. They lived in Geraldine and Timaru, and in 1916 moved to Fairlie, where Mr Bourn took over the livery stables and the mail run. t When the stables were converted into a theatre, Mr Bourn became, a general carrier. Mr Bourn has been an active' member of the Fairlie Football Club, of which he has been president for a number of years. He has always been interested in horses, and has trained many pony teams. He helped to purchase and train horses for World War I. He is patroh of the Mackenzie Highland Show, and is also an enthusiastic gardener.
Mrs Bourn is a keen bowler, and is an active member of the ' Plunket Society and St. Stephen's Church Women’s Guild, and sev- . eral other organisations. I
