A. VASSALLO NOW TRAINING
Former Reinsman In New Zealand
A. Vassallo, who had his share of successes as a reinsman in New Zealand while attached to J. D. Litten’s stable at West Melton, is now a licensed trainer in South Australia. Vassallo originally came from Australia. He served his apprenticeship with the Perth trainer, F. Kersley, who drove the New Zealand champion pacer, Caduceuc, to victory in one of the heats and into fourth place in the grand final of the Inter-Dominion Championships at Gloucester Park, Perth, in 1957. Vassallo accompanied Cadueeus from New Zealand for that series and also for the series held in Melbourne in March of last year. Vassallo, who returned to Australia near the end of last season, hi* latest winner at Bar- . snera. South Australia, on June 4.
