"The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, June 23. The Egmont Racing Club will open its winter meeting at Hawera on Saturday. The double will be on the Mcßae Handicap and the Hawera Handicap. Asoka, a last-start winner and top-weight for the Telegraph Handicap, will not start. He is to be raced at Hastings. Brown Grouse will not start in the Egmont Steeplechase. There has been a good deal of rain and the track is heavy.

Wool Men Leave Japan.— Three members of the New Zealand Wool Board left Tokyo by air today for a week’s visit to Hong Kong. They were the general manager, Mr J. D. Fraser, the chairman, Mr H. J. Wardell, and the deputy chairman, Mr J. Acland. During their stay here they visited textile centres and inspected markets.—Tokyo, Juna 22.
