Muller, whom the paper quoted several days ago as saying that the Springboks would develop as play progressed, quotes him today as saying! “We Will go into this test with our plans carefully laid.” Echoes of Dr. Danie Craven’s “Monlight Sonata,” in which he ran the Springboks under artificial light before the second test against the British Lions in 1955, resounded around Johannesburg yesterday.

The Sprinboks went to a suburban ground to train but when more than 1000 persons turned up to watch them they had a tactical switch. Instead of having a full-scale run they ran round the field, had a few kicks, did a few exercises—and then left Secret Practice
