New Zealander Wins At Schleiz
(NZ. Press Ascoetotion—Copyright) BERLIN, June 19 A New Zealander, John Hempieman, riding a Norton, won the 350 C.C. Class motor-cycle race on the East German triangular course at Schleiz today. Karl Hoppe, of West Germany, was second. The race was over 15 laps of the four and three-quarter mile Lono course.
The East German news agency A.D.N., said that Up to the eleventh lap, the Australian, R. West, and Tom Robinson, of Rhodesia, had battled for the lead. There were 120 races from 12 countries competing in the six races of the day. In the 250 c.c. class, East German MZ motor-cycles won first places. AJ3.N. said. W. Muslol and H. Fischer led In this order from start to finish over 15 laps. Muslol tn the seventh lap established a new lap record in 82.617 miles an hour. Hempieman, also on an MZ. lost three minutes when he had to go to th* pita In th* eighth lap and ln sixth.
