A further case of malaria was notified to the Christchurch district health office last week. Previous cases notified had been chiefly among men who returned from Malaya last December, said the Deputy-Medical Officer of Health (Dr. W. I. Paterson). The case reported last week in the Christchurch area was a man who returned from Malayan service in April. Other diseases notified were six cases of tuberculosis, three cases of epidemic jaundice and two cases of skin infection in newborn babies. There were no deaths from notifiable diseases.
