Backhouse (Lower Hutt) practical. Plumbing.—The James Douglas medallion awarded by the New Zealand Society of Master Plumbers: R. J. Sutton (Auckland). Painting and Decorating.—Prizes awarded by the New Zealand Guild of Master Painters, Decorators, and Signwriters: first qualifying amination, L. Sinnott (Palmerston North); second qualifying examination. F. G. Hopkins (Wellington); trade certificate examination. E. Rogers (Wellington); advanced trade certificate examination, P. M. Cornwell (Wellington). Signwriting.—First qualifying examination, A. S. Hodgson (Auckland); second qualifying examination, G. S. Columbus (Christchurch); trade certificate examination, K. G. Earlly (Auckland). Automotive Diesel Mechanics.— Awards made by Simms Diesel and Electrical Services, Ltd., Auckland, and L. J. Purdie and Company, Ltd., Wellington: first qualifying examination, H.
