DUNEDIN’S NEW AIRPORT TAKES SHAPE.—An aerial photograph showing the progress of work on the airport which is being built at Momona, on the Taieri Plains. There Will be a 5600ft runway finished in bituminous paving, a similarlypaved taxiway, and apron areas partly in bitumen and partly in concrete. Momona is about 18 miles by road from Dunedin, which lies over the hills at the top right of the picture. The new airport has been designed by the Ministry of Works, and is being built under the department’s supervision, but largely by private contractors.
