Summit Conference
Sir,—A study of Russian peace efforts for nearly 40 years gives sufficient proof of their sincerity for any but the badly biased. I suggest that “Don’t Be Fooled” get and study Mr Khrushchev’s full speech and disarmament programme as set out before the United Nations meeting while he was in America. It breathes sincerity, is realistic, and belies the world domination myth. Mr Khrushchev is firm in the belief, however, that in peaceful competition the Communist system will eventually eclipse the capitalist system, but they must have peace to prove it. The findings of the Senate Munitions Committee in 1936 regarding the American arms racket are just as relevant today.—Yours, etc., EC. June 17, 1960.
