ORIGINAL ST. ALBANS SCHOOL FOR DEMOLITION.—Conditional on the roll being restricted to 560, the Canterbury Education Board will seek approval to demolish these three remaining classrooms of the original block at the St. Albans School in the August holidays. The first rooms were erected on this site in 1873; substantial additions were made, and then six classrooms were removed as they were replaced by modern buildings round the perimeter of the grounds. The demolition will clear a considerable area for a playground in the middle of the property.
